In June of 2000, the Office of Graduate Studies secured a university mechanism to allow enrolled UCI graduate students to obtain UCI business or "affiliation" cards for use at various academic venues for identification and future contact purposes. Given UCI's increasing national exposure, the Graduate division encourages academic departments to make affiliation cards available to UCI graduate students, as needed.
To facilitate this process, affiliation cards for use by UCI graduate students can be ordered through UCI Procurement Services following approval by the funding source and completion of the
on-line order form. Asst. Graduate Dean DeWayne Green distributed a
memo to all academic units on June 22, 2000 outlining the purpose and procedures necessary in order for academic departments to place an order on behalf of an enrolled graduate student.
At the discretion of the academic units, students may be asked to reimburse the department for the cost of the cards. A
sample card is available that includes the appropriate logo and title to be used consistently throughout the UCI campus. Use of that standard format is restricted to registered UCI graduate students only.
