A New TOEFL
In 2005, ETS began rolling out the next generation of the TOEFL exam, known as the TOEFL Internet Based Test (or iBT) in the U.S, Canada, Puerto Rico, Spain, Columbia, France, Germany and Italy. The test will be phased in for other countries in 2006. The new test is more comprehensive, in that it includes a speaking component that is assessed in a standardized manner.

If you have already taken the original TOEFL, or if the TOEFL iBT is not yet available in your region of the world, your scores will be accepted provided that they are less than two years old at the time you apply.

TOEFL iBT Score Requirements for Admission Consideration:

• An overall minimum score of 80 for admission.
• Applicants who qualify for admission by the above criteria, and also achieve a score of 26 or higher on the Speaking component of the test may be eligible to serve as a Teaching Assistant.

Important:

• TOEFL iBT scores that are two years old or older are not acceptable.
