Notification of Receipt & Decision
Confirmation of Receipt of your Application
After submitting your electronic application, you will be sent an e-mail notice stating that our office has received your application. It will also include a text copy of the application information you entered online. Please review this to make sure all the information you entered is correct. Also, please be aware that most departments will not review an application until they have received all required materials.
Confirmation of Receipt of Supporting Documents:
If you wish to confirm that your file is complete, after allowing UCI at least 30 days following submission of your application and all supporting documents, write directly to the academic unit that is considering your application.
You may check online to determine whether the following application items have been received by the Office of Graduate Studies:
- Application Fee payment
- Official GRE scores (required for most programs)
- Official English proficiency scores (if required)
- Letters of Recommendation (if submitted electronically)
Make certain that your name and ID number appears on all official documents submitted and that your full legal name, address, and the graduate program to which you are applying appear legibly on all correspondence with the Office of Graduate Studies and the academic unit.
Notification:
A formal notice of the admission decision is sent to each applicant, as soon as possible, after the application and complete records are received and after the academic unit has made a recommendation.
Deferral:
After formal admission has been offered, only the academic unit can request a deferral. If you cannot enroll for the quarter to which you were admitted, please contact your academic department. If you wish to defer admission to a later academic quarter, the Office of Graduate Studies must be notified in writing by the second week of the quarter for which you are admitted.
