Application Evaluation
- Because of the large number of highly qualified applicants, the University of California cannot accept all students who meet minimum admission requirements.
- Each applicant's file is evaluated by both the Dean of Graduate Studies and the faculty of the specific graduate program on the basis of the following factors:
- Academic subject preparation
- Scholarship
- Letters of recommendation
- Statement of purpose
- Test scores
- Examples of previous work
- Whether the applicant's academic objective can reasonably be satisfied by a graduate program on this campus
