A number of diversity fellowships and assistantships are awarded to
entering and
continuing UCI graduate students, as well as
graduate school preparation programs for undergraduate students. In addition to comprehensive funding packages in the form of these internal fellowships and assistantships, diversity programs offer students the ability to acquire and develop advanced research skills through faculty mentoring relationships and the opportunity to present research at conferences and symposiums. UCI awards over $1 million dollars in internal diversity fellowships directly to qualifying students each year.
In most cases, it is the responsibility of the
Faculty and Staff of the UCI academic department to which you are applying or currently enrolled to nominate you for diversity programs on the basis of relative merit and contribution to the diversity in that department or discipline.
Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. to be considered for UCI diversity programs. If you believe that you may qualify for a UCI diversity program, please complete UCI's
Supplemental Diversity Fellowship Application, print it, and send it directly to the UCI academic department to which you are applying or currently enrolled.
