Internal Fellowships: Brython Davis Fellowship

UCI's Graduate Division plans to award up to four Brython Davis Fellowships for academic year 2008-2009. The fellowship is intended to provide support to students who demonstrate outstanding past academic achievement as well as future promise. This award provides a total stipend of $5,000.00 for the academic quarter of the award. Award preference will be given to those students who have not previously received this award. Students must be enrolled full-time (in a minimum of 12 units) in the academic quarter in which the student chooses to take the award. Please note that this award cannot be deferred to a subsequent year.

To be eligible for the Brython Davis Fellowship, one of the nominee's parents must currently be, or have been, a regular member of either the United States Navy or Marine Corps.

Academic units may nominate outstanding students who meet the criteria. To be considered, all individual student nominations must include the following:

  • A completed Brython Davis Fellowship Nomination Form.
  • The student's current Curriculum Vitae.
  • A cover letter specifying the student's relationship with the U.S. Armed Forces member.
  • Photocopies of the respective member's active duty documents or honorable discharge papers.

All AY 2008-09 nomination materials must be received in the Graduate Division no later than noon on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Applications must be submitted via the student's home department.
