Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science
2006 SACNAS National Conference
October 26-29, 2006, Tampa, Florida
SACNAS' mission is to encourage Chicano/Latino, Native American and other students from historically underrepresented communities to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for research careers and science teaching professions at all levels, as well as in a variety of professional settings. Every year SACNAS holds an annual conference that helps the organization carry out this vital mission. The conference features cutting edge research presented by the nation's top scientists; links scientists, science professionals, K-12 Educators, undergraduate and graduate students; and promotes mentoring and developmental opportunities, ranging from graduate school to summer research programs and internships. The conference also serves as a forum for building national networks, addressing professional demands and concerns of minority students and faculty.

American Society of Human Genetics

MAES
Mexican American Engineers and Scientists
31th International Symposium & Career Fair
November 1-6, 2005, San Jose, California
The annual International Symposium and Career Fair is the premier event for the Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists, Inc. This conference for engineering and scientists has been held in a different city each year since 1976 and has been very successful in helping raise funds to support its programs such as the scholarships totaling upwards of $50,000. At this event, MAES features technical and education papers and workshops by nationally and internationally known leaders and technical experts. The events have provided attendees visibility to the many professionals in industry and the type of work in which they are involved.

Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students

2006 Student Research Conference

Undergraduates and high achieving high school students from institutions in the United States and abroad are invited to participate in an all-day conference and evening awards ceremony. Nearly 250 students will be accepted. The day will include workshops on choosing a graduate school, grad school student panel and mentoring opportunities for students.

Southern California Conference on Undergraduate Research

SCCUR spotlights undergraduate achievement in a variety of disciplines and types of institutions in the Southern California region and fosters appreciation of the valuable role these activities play in complementing other aspects of undergraduate education. Through its annual conference, SCCUR celebrates the research, scholarship, and creative activities carried out by undergraduate students. Students in all disciplines - the arts, humanities, sciences and engineering - present their original projects to audiences of peers, faculty and administrators through performance, oral presentations, posters or displays.
