Giving Opportunities

Why donate to the Graduate Division, School, and Department Funds?
Because it enables you to direct your gift to any area of interest, including a specific school, department, or other program. Unrestricted gifts -those with no restrictions on use-give UCI the flexibility to address unexpected challenges and take advantage of new opportunities. Also, the UCI Graduate Division Fund provides support for university-wide programs, including Scholars Awards , general fellowships, and diversity awards.

Why should I give?
Your gifts to UCI will produce immediate, tangible benefits for specific academic areas, programs, and graduate students. Your annual or one-time contributions enable you to:

Why are there different options for giving?
We want to make it convenient for you to give to UCI. Options include Check (made payable to UCI Foundation) or Pledge (You can make a pledge to UCI now and tell us when you would like to receive reminders for payment throughout the year).
Why corporate matching gifts?
Many corporations will match charitable gifts from their employees. You might be able to have your gift to UCI doubled or even tripled thorough a Corporate Matching Gift Program. Contact your employer's human resources office for matching gift forms and more information on this corporate-sponsored benefit. Some companies even match gifts from retired employees and spouses.
Why give through estate and tax planning?
It is a way to make lifetime gifts through real estate, stocks, trusts, and bequests. UCI's planned giving officers are available to work with you and your financial advisors on a confidential basis to help you meet your estate and tax planning needs.
